Convenience

A built-in microwave oven combo can free up space on your kitchen counters and add a sleek appearance to your kitchen. It can be used to cook leftovers, frozen food, and packaged food items. It removes the need for separate appliances for the countertop or large wall ovens. A combination microwave oven can also be a good choice when you are looking to improve your kitchen without undertaking any major remodeling projects.

There are microwave oven combos in various designs to fit your kitchen decor. Some come with a swing-out right-to-left door, while others have a drop-down design that opens in the same manner as a traditional oven. There is also microwave ovens that have the drawer design that opens like cabinets. The microwave drawers can be easily reached and are great for small space.

Combination microwaves can also offer various features to help make meal prep easier and more practical. For instance, some models come with sensors for steam cycles that automatically adjusts the time and temperature of your food items to ensure that you receive perfectly steamed veggies and fish. Other features include a broil feature that lets you quickly melt cheese or cook your favorite food, as well as Crispwave(tm) technology that can grill, bake and crisp foods.

When choosing a microwave combination, be sure to consider how often you'll use each function. If you will be using the oven more often than the microwave, you may be better off buying a double wall-oven. A combo oven has less capacity than an individual oven.

After you've picked the ideal microwave and oven combo for your needs, it's time to think about how you will install it. Over-the-range models are installed over your cooktop or stove and connected to a power outlet. Built-in microwaves can be incorporated on walls or cabinets in your kitchen. Some models include trim kits to ensure that your new microwave is in line with the cabinets you already have.

Energy Efficiency

A  built-in microwave  oven combo can provide a great space saving option for those who have smaller kitchens, regardless of whether they reside in a house or an apartment. They can reduce the amount of the space in cabinets that would be taken up by two separate appliances, and they can also help to reduce energy usage. They are more energy efficient than traditional wall-mounted ovens and offer a more efficient way to cook. In addition, they can be used to cook both hot and cold dishes, reducing the need for additional appliances, such as toasters or warming plates.

DOE conducts a variety of analyses when evaluating potential amendments to energy conservation standards. These include assessments of technology and market screening analyses, engineering analyses and national impact analysis (NIA). In this SNOPR, DOE will draw on its existing engineering analysis on microwave ovens to determine what degree of efficiency improvements are technologically possible for this product category.

DOE will compare the microwave's design to a set energy performance objectives in the engineering analysis. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.

As part of NIA, DOE will assess the impact on consumers, including the cost savings over the lifecycle, as well as the simple payback time (PBP). DOE will use its Government Regulatory Impact Model with an adaptation for microwave ovens to calculate industry net present value ("NPV").

DOE will also assess the impacts on manufacturers, and will employ an altered industry cash flow model adapted to this product type to estimate manufacturing NPV. Finally, DOE will consider the potential impact on small-business manufacturers and other subgroups of manufacturers to identify any that may be disproportionally affected by these proposals.

Additionally, DOE will consider whether the tests for microwave ovens must be updated to include active mode energy usage and an active mode energy use metric. Currently, the test procedures only cover the use of standby mode power.

built in microwave deals  create heat by causing water molecules vibrate in food. Wall ovens depend on the circulation of hot air while microwaves depend on waves to cause food molecules to vibrate. Combination wall ovens combine these two distinct appliances into one unit that saves kitchen space and gives an elegant, modern look. But you need to carefully think about your needs and budget before deciding to purchase a combination wall oven. Some of the combo ovens we reviewed have design or performance issues.
